EuroNCAP credits the EV6’s passenger compartment for remaining stable during the frontal crash test and providing good protection for the knees and thighs of all passengers. Tests with the front seats and headrests show good whiplash protection in rear-end collisions. The EV6 scored maximum points in the more severe side barrier and pole impact tests, providing excellent protection for all critical body parts of the driver and passenger.

The EV6 also scored well in tests aimed at children, with the car protecting all important body parts from the six- and 10-year-old passenger dolls. When testing the EV6 safety technology, Euro NCAP highlighted the performance of the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system, which responds well to other vehicles and avoids collisions in most test scenarios.

Other prominent safety features in EuroNCAP are the EV6’s Multi-Collision Braking (MCB) which automatically brakes after a collision to avoid a secondary collision, and the eCall system which alerts emergency services in the event of an accident.

The outstanding safety performance of the Kia EV6 is based on the robust Global-Electric Modular Platform (E-GMP) and rigid body structure. Security in the passenger compartment has been further enhanced by the use of ultra-high tensile steel. The hot stamping process during the production process produces a torsional stiffness of 48.5. The EV6 has a total of seven state-of-the-art airbags, including a center side airbag that helps protect against direct collisions with the driver and front passenger. The EV6 comes standard with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to help the driver maintain control during braking and cornering.
