With optimal axle distribution, Arocs Widespread makes intelligent use of legal space for maximum axle loads. This truck is intended for very heavy construction transport and offers a maximum GVW of 43 tonnes.
Igor Jacobs, Head of Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Trucks explains: “The Arocs Widespread from Mercedes-Benz Trucks has been developed exclusively for the Dutch market. This truck is intended for transportation of very heavy construction. For this particular job, the front and rear axles have been spaced further. This technical adjustment creates optimal axle distribution and also ensures that Widespread makes optimal use of legal space for maximum axle loads in the Netherlands. This makes Widespread an excellent addition to the already extensive range of Mercedes-Benz Trucks in the construction segment.”
The truck has a maximum axle load of two times 11.5 tons on the rear axle and twice 10 tons on the front axle. These Arocs offer a maximum GVW of 43 tonnes. The widespread has two steering front axles and two driven rear axles, the rear axle is also steered. This results in short turning circles and high maneuverability.
With the Arocs Widespread, Mercedes makes it possible to carry more cargo on fewer trips. This higher level of efficiency, together with the truck’s relatively low fuel consumption, helps customers reduce emissions. In addition to this first 8×4, Widespread is also available as 8×8, 6×4 and 6×6 with a choice of the entire Arocs engine range: from 240 kW (326 hp) to 460 kW (625 hp) . The truck can also be ordered with the new generation OM471 power source, which results in an extra 4% fuel economy.
