The accident occurred in the city of Halesowen, England. Even if there is no precise information about how the accident happened, only two scenarios can be imagined: either the driver is distracted and not looking at the road, or he is controlling a 1000 hp Ferrari that can reach speeds of up to 340 hp. km/h lost.
The Ferrari hit a parked car
The result is the same: a Ferrari, now worth more than 500,000 euros, crashes into a row of parked cars. The damage to the SF90 was extensive, with the hood ripped, headlights missing and airbags inflated.
Is hybrid technology broken?
But what’s worse is that the technology for the front electric motor is located in the trunk of the SF90 and the so-called “Rac-e Unit” appears to be faulty. The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a plug-in hybrid car, which is a 780 hp V8 biturbo powered by three electric motors.
Ferrari defines system performance as 1000 hp and 800 Nm. 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, 200 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. At the same time, the SF90 should be capable of traveling up to 25 kilometers electrically thanks to a battery with a capacity of 7.9 kWh.
If a complex technology does break down, it can make repairs more difficult – but at least make it much more expensive. But the current damaged Ferrari remains confiscated, because the driver just ran away after the accident. 1000 hp car is not a toy!
