A look at the popular “window stickers” in the US reveals that blue brake calipers, for example, cost an additional $6200 (€5800), while the EB logo on the headrests costs $3100 (€2900) and the blue seat belt costs $2500. (2340 euros) available.
Extras worth over 160,000 euros
The bottom line is that the price of the new old adds up to 3,871,500 US dollars or the equivalent of about 3,623,000 euros – although very expensive options such as the visible carbon coating are not ordered. Two distinct shades of blue match the rather understated interior in black/Alcantara leather with blue accents – a classic overall spec.
Incidentally, whoever thought that Pur Sport was just a Chiron with a new one rim and the big wings really go wrong! The changes to the Pur Sport are so extensive that it could almost be considered a brand new car. The chassis, engine, transmission and design have been extensively optimized. A press release for Pur Sport states: “This is the most uncompromising and at the same time the most agile Bugatti of modern times.”
Pur Sport 50 kg lighter than Chiron
Overall, Bugatti is able to save 50 kilograms of weight. That doesn’t sound like much for a car that still weighs 1980 kilos, but the savings are huge. The extra soft semi-slick is brand new and specially designed for pure sports Michelin Sport Cup 2R developed. To continue this, Bugatti has readjusted the chassis setup: the front springs are 65 percent harder and the rear springs 33 percent harder.
But Bugatti is still not satisfied with the weight savings, completely new chassis and tire revisions, so the monumental W16 engine and transmission are also optimized and adapted specifically to the Chiron Pur Sport application area. True, nominal strength remains at 1500 PS and 1600 Nm are the same on paper, but the maximum speed has been increased from 6700 rpm to 6900 rpm.
At the same time, the transmission has been reclassified and the ratio is shortened by 15 percent, which means that its elasticity value is said to be 40 percent higher than that of the Chiron. In numbers, this means the Pur Sport accelerates in sixth gear from 60 to 120 km/h almost two seconds faster than the Chiron.
Bugatti only has a distance of 771 kilometers
It’s questionable whether the first owner of this Chiron Pur Sport ever went to full power, as the speedometer shows only 479 miles, which equates to about 771 kilometers. However, as each Bugatti undergoes various tests on the test bench and on the road before delivery and the mileage is non-zero afterward, most models are delivered with a range of 300 to 600 kilometers. Therefore, the owner should not drive his Chiron Pur Sport too much.
It is therefore not surprising that the Pur Sport is in tip-top shape. You won’t find any signs of wear or damage here, and of course this hypercar is crash-free and unpainted. Bugatti in brand new condition. The sale price includes the original aluminum case – which contains the car cover, charger and carbon license plate holder – and the noble carbon case, which contains a spare key, USB stick and a book.
The highest bid is already higher than the new price
The auction is still running for a few days, but the current highest bid is already US$3.9 million or the equivalent of 3.65 million euros – and thus just above its original price. But something must have happened before the end of the auction. That’s the price customers have to pay if they want to own (almost) the new Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport today. And: Opportunities like this don’t come around very often, as such vehicles usually change hands quietly – if they do exist.
