Anna Lyna Mary Goodman was born on November 25, 1982, in Fairbanks, Alaska to parents who were both schoolteachers. She grew up in a family that valued education and hard work. Her parents instilled in her the importance of dedication and perseverance, values that would serve her well in the years to come.
From a young age, Anna showed a passion for learning. She excelled in her studies and became an avid reader. Her love for literature inspired her to pursue a degree in English at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She graduated magna cum laude in 2004 and went on to earn a master’s degree in English from the same university in 2006.
After completing her education, Anna began her career as an English teacher at a local high school. She quickly gained a reputation as an outstanding educator, and her students consistently achieved high grades and test scores. In 2010, Anna was named Teacher of the Year by the Alaska Department of Education.
Anna met her future husband, John, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where they were both pursuing their undergraduate degrees. The two fell in love quickly and were married in 2005. They have two children, a son and a daughter, and enjoy spending time together as a family.
In 2012, Anna was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery and chemotherapy but continued to work as a teacher throughout her treatment.
